LVMH Showcases Cutting-Edge, Jewel-Encrusted Timepieces

Each spring, Geneva becomes the destination for the global watch industry as it hosts Watches and Wonders, a significant gathering for horology professionals and aficionados alike. Ahead of this event, the esteemed luxury conglomerate LVMH has introduced a series of striking watch designs from its portfolio of high-end watch brands. Over the years, LVMH has been diligently enhancing Louis Vuitton’s presence in the luxury watch market while also revitalizing prestigious labels such as Gérald Genta and Daniel Roth. Here are some of the noteworthy pieces from their latest offerings.

Hublot has unveiled the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green Saxem, showcasing their expertise in sapphire crystal, which is used for crafting both cases and components. The brand has experimented with sapphire aluminum oxide and rare materials, initially developed for satellite technology, to achieve extraordinary color depth resembling vibrant gemstones. Additionally, this timepiece features a tourbillon within its intricate open architecture design.

Zenith has brilliantly combined sporty aesthetics with luxurious embellishments in the Chronomaster Sport Rainbow, which features an understated 18-carat white gold case adorned with a bezel of 40 baguette-cut sapphires, accented by 10 baguette-cut diamonds marking the seconds. This watch is driven by the El Primero movement, embodying both functionality and sophistication.

Bvlgari Serpenti watch with diamond bezel and rose gold band.

Bulgari has introduced an upgraded version of the Serpenti watch, known as the Solotempo BVS100 Automatic. The sleek, sinuous Tubogas models require a slimmer movement than usual, and this new addition weighs only five grams. This movement is also featured in the Serpenti Seddutori Automatic, characterized by its unique flat case and serpent-inspired gold bracelet that elegantly wraps around the wrist.

Exemplifying the craftsmanship involved in watchmaking, Tiffany & Co. presents the Bird on a Tsavorite Rock timepiece, which dazzles with 36 baguette tsavorites invisibly set on its outer rotating ring—this gem was first introduced by the brand in 1974. The exquisitely crafted bird on the ring features 99 full-cut diamonds and a pink sapphire eye, overlooking a snow-set dial. The meticulous craftsmanship required for this piece is evident, with the case alone requiring nearly 55 hours of gem-setting, powered by a self-winding movement.

Rose gold Louis Vuitton watch with brown leather strap.

Louis Vuitton has recently introduced an avant-garde version of its iconic Tambour line: the Tambour Convergence. This contemporary timepiece features a mirror-polished rose gold case measuring 37mm and employs a vintage-inspired display with a unique artistic take on time. A nod to “montres à guichet” (watches with apertures), it showcases a new in-house automatic movement.

Tag Heuer Carrera watch with burgundy face and black leather strap.

With a heritage of precision timing since 1916, Tag Heuer marks a successful early year as the official timekeeper for Formula 1, reinforcing LVMH’s position as a key global partner in the motorsport scene. Among the latest releases is the Carrera Chronograph featuring a captivating smoky black-to-purple gradient dial and a domed glass box crystal, energized by the Caliber Heuer 02 movement. A limited-edition tourbillon version is also available.

Gold watch adorned with orange stones.

Exotic stone dials are increasingly popular, exemplified by the Gentissima Oursin, which creatively blends a brilliant orange cornelian dial with a bezel embellished with 137 spiny orange fire opal beads, inspired by the beauty of a sea urchin. This design pays homage to the innovative spirit of Gérald Genta, a brand that LVMH revived a few years ago, known for its pioneering aesthetic.

Diamond-encrusted Christian Dior watch with floral details.

Christian Dior honors the vibrant creativity seen in their ateliers with the Grand Soir Automate Miss Dior, a watch that features charming golden “bees,” a term Dior affectionately used for his seamstresses who brought his sketches to life. With a jeweled bezel and a hidden golden thimble at the back, this timepiece pays tribute to the skilled artisans behind its creation.

Founded in 1988 and revitalized by LVMH two years ago, Daniel Roth, under the guidance of watchmakers Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini, introduces the new Extra Plat Souscription. This modern interpretation of the original 1990 design is a quintessential example of elegant dress watches: featuring a double ellipse yellow gold case and an uncluttered, refined Clou de Paris patterned dial.
